This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
We have one temporary (12 months) and two permanent opportunities for dedicated Registered Nurses to work on a full time basis in our Central Coast Cancer Services. You will work within a dedicated multi-disciplinary team environment aiming to improve the patient journey through the provision of comprehensive nursing care to patients with Haematological and Oncological malignancies.
About You
- You have current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- You have demonstrated post basic experience in oncology/haematology/radiation oncology nursing and/or willing to undertake education/training.
- You have demonstrated experience in chemotherapy administration and/or the care of a patient undergoing Radiotherapy treatment.
- You have fantastic communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal skills and can liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
You will be based at Gosford Hospital - K8 Inpatient Unit. This role delivers inpatient anti-cancer therapy and radiation therapy for the treatment of Oncology and Haematology malignancies as well as providing the supportive and emotional care required by this patient group.
