Our Gosford Hospital – Emergency Department is currently rolling out Safe Staffing Levels an initiative that involves the introduction of minimum staffing levels. In May 2023, the Safe Staffing Levels Taskforce was established with key leaders from the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA), NSW Health, and Local Health Districts. The Task force have been working collaboratively to ensure the implementation of the Government’s commitment of 2,480 full time equivalent staff towards the rollout of safe staffing levels over the coming years.
We are actively recruiting to both permanent and temporary vacancies, temporary vacancies ranging from 6–12-month contracts and we offer 8- and 10-hour rotating shift patterns, our Emergency Department does also offer 12-hour shift profiles. About You
AHPRA and valid Australian work rights: You are currently residing in Australia and hold a valid AHPRA registration and have a minimum of 2 years working experience as a registered nurse, or you are a New Zealand citizen holding a current New Zealand Passport. (Please note we do not offer sponsorship)
Clinical Expertise: You have a proven track record in providing acute services, emergency medicine care with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Certification programs are available through exceptional education in the emergency department.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
A Growth Mindset: A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in patient care and clinical skills.
Requirements
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- To be considered for permanent employment in this role, applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or New Zealand citizens holding a current New Zealand passport. Temporary visa holders may be considered only if no suitable local candidates are identified. In such cases, employment will be offered in accordance with the terms and expiration of the visa.
