This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

About You 

  • You have current registration or eligible for Registration as Registered Midwife (Division 1) with AHPRA, and provides evidence of meeting the AHPRA Recency of Practice Standards and have a current unrestricted NSW drivers licence.
  • You possess recent competent clinical experience in midwifery, demonstrating ability to practice safe care in line with policies and directives and clinical practice guidelines.
  • You have an understanding of team nursing and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.

Where You’ll Be Working

The Registered Midwife role is based out of Gosford Hospital but works across the whole Central Coast Local Health District, it is a full time position working a 6 week rotating roster with varied shifts across 7 days.

The Community Midwife Team provide continuity of midwifery care to women and families - providing safe, compassionate, person centred care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of maternity care in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for women and their families.
