Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is offering a permanent full-time opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Child & Family Health to lead and support early intervention, health promotion, and family-centered care for children and their families in our community.

  

About the Role

  • The CNS2 Child & Family Health, is responsible for delivering complex specialist nursing care and leading development of specialist clinical practice in relation to health screening, assessment and an advisory service to families with children aged 0 to 5 years.
  • The CNS2 has a leadership role in service delivery to provide effective quality care for clients with complex care needs, infant feeding, developmental assessment, facilitation of groups and promote practice development and quality initiatives that enhance best practice.
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 16.30pm

About You

  •        Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing and/or Lactation Consultancy (IBCLC certification highly desirable) or equivalent
  •        Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in lactation and breastfeeding management.
  •        Proficient in identifying and managing acute and chronic conditions that may impact breastfeeding.
  •        Proven ability to provide breastfeeding education to individuals and groups.
  •        Experience in empowering and supporting families through compassionate, culturally safe, and family-centred care.
  •        Ability to develop and deliver staff education and training in breastfeeding support and lactation care.
  •        Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses/midwives, paediatricians, GPs, and allied health professionals.
  •        Commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to the advancement of lactation consultancy.
