Gosford Hospital is seeking two dedicated Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join our nursing team in our Renal & Oncology Inpatient Unit (C5). These permanent full-time positions offer an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the delivery of high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive healthcare environment. As an Assistant in Nursing, you will be working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to provide essential support to the nursing team. Your role will involve assisting with direct care activities, including personal care, mobility, and communication needs, ensuring that patients receive optimal care in accordance with their care plans. You will contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality care by assisting with patient care interventions, the collection of clinical data, and maintaining accurate patient records. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the nursing team by participating in Quality Improvement activities and upholding the hospital’s high standards of patient care.


About You  

  • You have completed HLT33115 Certificate III Health Services Assistance or have completed 1 or more years Training as an Undergraduate nursing student.
  • You have demonstrated effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills,
  • You have a commitment to teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment   
  • You have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, along with proficiency in using information technology to enhance patient care.

 

Where You’ll Be Working  

This position is based in C5 at Gosford Hospital, a busy and respected healthcare facility known for its comprehensive patient care and a collaborative work environment. The team operates in a fast-paced clinical setting, providing a wide range of services to patients with varying needs. You will work alongside skilled Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and other healthcare professionals, all focused on delivering the best possible care to the community.

Others duties/activities will include;

  • Provision of support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in a care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Assist Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse with patient care interventions as directed
  • Contribute to collection of accurate health care information and maintain accurate health care documentation as required
  • Communicate effectively with patient and other health care team members according to appropriate protocol
