About the role:


We have an exciting opportunity available for a CSSD Instrument Technician to join our Central Sterilisation Department at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the provision of sterile instruments and equipment to Theatre, Wards, Allied Health Departments, and external agencies.

As a valued member of our dedicated CSSD team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to the theatres, Day Procedure Centre, and other clinical areas throughout the hospital.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
    • Collection, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, and delivery of all Reusable Medical Devices.
    • Comply with current AS/NZ standard 4187 and GENCA Infection Control Guidelines.
    • Operate associated equipment safely to ensure the quality of reprocessed RMDs.
    • Provide Quality processed RMDs on time.
    • Comply with hospital and CSSD policies and work instructions to provide a sustained high level of service.
    • Working safely and harmoniously with the rest of the hospital team.


You will receive ongoing support and guidance from the CSSD Supervisor and the Nurse Unit Manager, ensuring you are well-equipped to maintain excellence in service delivery.

The Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Operating Theatres deliver critical care and surgical services to the population of Armidale and its surrounding regions, while also serving as the referral centre for smaller communities within the Tablelands cluster. About you:

Requirements:

  • Currently undertaking Certificate III in Sterilisation or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
