Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is responsible for providing care to patients who reside within the Northern Sydney LHD, but also to several state-based services in line with hospital specialties. The successful applicants to this position shall be working within RNS Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit, based in St. Leonards NSW, with the ability to rotate out to other Hospitals in the District.
What you'll be doing
The primary role of the Sonographer is to provide a high quality Diagnostic Medical Imaging service in accordance with National Registration, professional practices, standards and policies of the Department specific to Northern Sydney Local Health District.
Ensure provision of services/care and participate in Quality Improvement and research activities to ensure provision of high level customer service.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- For Radiographer Level 3 Grade 3, a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRBP) and a postgraduate degree in medical ultrasound with accreditation as a Sonographer with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- For Cardiac Technologist Grade 2, a postgraduate degree in Sonography or qualifications or competencies deemed equivalent by the employer and accreditation as a Sonographer with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Extensive experience in high-quality ultrasound examinations, including obstetric and gynaecological imaging, with expertise in performing routine to complex procedures efficiently under pressure and within time constraints.
- Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively across various mediums and engage seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams at all levels of the organisation. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
