Are you a compassionate, experienced midwife looking for an exciting role in a supportive regional healthcare setting? We have an incredible opportunity for a dedicated Registered Midwife to join our Midwifery Services Team in rural NSW at Griffith.
About the Role:
As the Nursing and Midwifery team member at Griffith Base Hospital you will bring vision and clarity to your role, be a great communicator, self-directed, with an ability to inspire, motivate and support people to reach their full potential. Provide necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum period.

Requirements:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (with) demonstrated evidence to meet the NMBA's Registered Midwife standards for practice (and) meet the NMBA's approved standards, codes, guidelines and frameworks commensurate with the position.
- Demonstrated continuous quality improvement with the ability to comprehensively conduct assessments, develop plans for midwifery practice, provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality midwifery practice, and evaluate outcomes to inform midwifery practice.
- Demonstrated competencies in and/or knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in caring for women and their family during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period.
- Demonstrated engagement in therapeutic and professional relationships, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a rural health setting.
- Ability to think critically and analyse midwifery practice (with) a willingness to provide leadership, embrace change (and) be a change agent in the coordination and delivery of midwifery care.
- Demonstrated commitment to own professional development to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise and competence, capability and develop the personal and professional qualities, required through the use of research and evidence-based practice reflecting an understanding of contemporary matters.
- Demonstrated commitment to a woman-centred approach working in partnership with the woman and her family, to ensure consumer participation in decision making about care and the delivery of midwifery care.
- Class C Drivers Licence and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the MLHD.
Where You’ll Be Working
Griffith Base Hospital is a Level 4 facility, one of two base hospitals in MLHD, providing services to Griffith and surrounding areas.
Griffith Base Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $250 million redevelopment of a new clinical services building is on track for completion in 2025.
