Career Medical Officer - Emergency Medicine
The main purpose of this position is to provide effective medical services to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment.
The Career Medical Officer will gain experience in the management of unwell patients presenting to the Emergency Department. This role is for a period of 12 months.

Essential Requirements:
· MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
· Completion of at least two (2) postgraduate years of medical practice.
· Valid NSW Working with Children check.
· Cleared National Police check.
· Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions.
· To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
· You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to work health safety and wellbeing.

1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
2. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and current authority to practice as a Medical Officer with the Medical Board of Australia.
3. Clinical experience relevant to the specialty area.
4. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills applicable to Australian medical practice.
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, under direction of a Consultant, and ability to recognise own clinical limitations and consult as required.
6. Ability to equitably participate in the unit on-call roster with other medical practitioners as required and the ability to participate in a rotating roster including night duty.
7. Demonstrated active participation in and commitment to quality assurance and improvement activities.
8. Current licence to drive in NSW.
