About Us
We are looking for a talented and driven BI & Data Lead Engineer to architect, build, and maintain the end-to-end data platform that powers our reporting and analytics. In this hybrid role, you will unify data from diverse on-premises and cloud sources into a consolidated, analytics-ready layer.
You will define scalable data architectures, implement semantic layers using SSAS and Power BI, and ensure data is optimized for BI consumption. Your work will embed data quality checks, lineage documentation, and CI/CD best practices, while tuning databases and warehouse resources for performance and cost-efficiency. Collaboration is key, as you’ll partner with BI Analysts and Clinical Costing Analysts to translate business and clinical needs into data solutions, mentor team members in modern data engineering, and lead our Snowflake migration strategy.
This role is central to ensuring the organisation has timely, reliable, and governed data to support informed decision-making across the District.

What you will bring to the role
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Mathematics or Data Science and/or relevant equivalent professional experience. Masters degree advantageous
- Strong experience in one or more of the following languages: ASP.NET, MS SQL, Python, R and Scala for ETL purpose
- Proficiency in data modelling and design, including SQL development and database administration, database management and data warehousing, MS SSIS & SSRS. Experience in Snowflake while not mandatory is well regarded
- Proven skills in effectively communicating and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across a variety of specialisations and domains.
- Understanding of the health system and the relevant processes, systems, and regulatory requirements while not mandatory is well regarded.
