Are you a skilled Biomedical Electronics Technician seeking a dynamic opportunity to apply your expertise within a leading healthcare environment? Nepean Hospital is currently inviting applications to join its District Total Asset Management Team, where your technical proficiency will contribute directly to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development, configuration, assembly, and restoration of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical medical equipment, ensuring all work aligns with recommended practices and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) guidelines. You will perform equipment repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with AS/NZ Standards, working independently across a diverse range of medical devices.

What you will bring to the role 

  1. Possess qualifications in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering equivalent to AQF6 as a minimum combined with industry experience in the Healthcare Environment. Example qualifications include Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Advanced/Associate Diploma in Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification(s) with experience appropriate to the position.
  2. Be technically competent and have good knowledge of both analog and digital electronics as applied to medical devices. Ability to fault find and repair electronic & electromechanical circuitry to component level.
  3. Ability to fault find and repair electronic & electromechanical circuitry to component level.
  4. Demonstrated experience with electrical safety procedures and knowledge of relevant Australian standards as applied to medical devices in Health care facilities.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to effectively liaise with suppliers of services and parts to the hospital and possess good written and oral skills in English with the ability to effectively liaise with nursing, medical and administrative staff.
  7. Strong ability to utilise computer software & database applications.
  8. Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
