About the Opportunity
B.E.S.T is an innovative clinical team designed to role model and support clinical staff in the Identification, Escalation and Management of patients at risk of and experiencing Acute Behavioural Disturbance. The primary purpose of the Behavioural Escalation Support Team (B.E.S.T) clinician position is to deliver and role model behaviour management strategies to support the care of people whose behaviour negatively impacts the patients' care and/or safety of other patients and staff. This support is targeting people admitted to acute care facilities (including the Emergency department) with Acute Severe Behavioural Disturbance (ASBD) and other behaviour support needs. In providing this support for patients and staff, the B.E.S.T clinician will be assisting to up-skill clinicians caring for patients on strategies to mitigate and manage behavioural disturbances.

Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a Health Science or Applied Science Bachelor's Degree in Leisure, Recreation or Diversional Therapy recognised by the Australian Recreational Therapy Association (ARTA).
- Must have experience as a Level 2 clinician who possesses extensive specialist knowledge in people with Acute Severe Behavioural Disturbances.
- Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
