EAST COAST MEDICAL NETWORK - AMR 2026 - Applications Close Tuesday 5th August 2025
The East Coast Medical Network may offer a 1- or 2-year contract (as required for completion of basic training) to applicants who have completed their time in an accredited BPT role. All other applicants will be offered 3-year contracts, subject to change, with final rankings from the application process and service provision requirements determining the length of training contract that will be offered. An exciting opportunity exists to join the East Coast Medical Network as a Basic Physician Trainee
Where you'll be working
The East Coast Medical Network is dedicated to the training of balanced, well- rounded and competent physicians.
Vocationally based training is delivered across 5 locations situated along the spectacular East Coast of New South Wales, including Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Shellharbour Hospital. We support our trainees to reach their potential with an interactive and individualised education program that is underpinned by the fundamental tenets of access to opportunity, equality and fairness. The success of the network is only in part demonstrated by some of the highest pass-rates in the state in the RACP written and clinical examinations, rather, we measure the success of our program by the ability of our graduates to obtain the advanced training positions they desire and the feedback from advanced training programs that they actively seek ECMN graduates for their demonstrated knowledge base, clinical acumen and work ethic.
The ECMN provides a wide range of sub-specialty medical terms in both urban and regional locations. There are no terms of nights. A comprehensive preference system is used to allocate terms and annual leave, aiming to give a wide range of training experiences. Our written education program augments the RACP run college lecture series, and is delivered weekly during protected teaching time, with a focus on direct interaction with experts in the field. We videoconference these tutorials to all our peripheral sites. All trainees are given the opportunity to attend a 2-week revision course. Our clinical preparation program is comprehensive, with several assigned activities per week including practice short and long cases, dedicated Neurology teaching, clinical investigation workshops and structured communication tutorials. Our professional development program aims to expand the skill sets of our medical trainees, with tutorials in leadership skills, managing JMOs, communication, curriculum vitae preparation and job interview skills. There are significant opportunities to become involved in teaching and research, as our network has strong ties with the University of New South Wales.
More information about the ECMN can be found on our website at About us - East Coast Medical Network
