  1. Post graduate qualification in genetic counselling and/or have attained “Board eligible” status in genetic counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA). Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the provision of genetic counselling services
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the application of genomic medicine in clinical care and research
  3. Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with ability to problem solve, prioritise work and meet deadlines
  4. Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and operate autonomously with minimal direct clinical supervision
  5. Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  6. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems
  7. Commitment to ongoing education and completion of certification as a genetic counsellor by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia
