About the role:

This dynamic role will see you work alongside our dialysis nursing team, where in addition to providing basic care, you will assist with dialysis care - including organising consumables ready for treatments, setting up dialysis machines, monitoring of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and assisting with the completion of dialysis treatments. You will undergo comprehensive training and will receive ongoing support from senior nursing staff.

You will be required to work 8 hour shifts each Saturday, as well as public holidays.

You will be joining a highly skilled and motivated team at the Raymond Terrace Dialysis Unit! We love what we do and are proud of the care that we deliver. 

The Dialysis unit has 8 chairs and is part of the network of Dialysis units under the John Hunter Hospital Department of Nephrology.

About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant in Nursing with a passion for teamwork. Personal qualities of honesty, good work ethic and a positive outlook are highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year) or have equivalent experience.

  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
