The Role

We’re currently looking for an Assistant in Nursing to join our team within Long Bay Correctional Centre. This position requires the employee to undertake activities for which they have the legal authority and competence to perform (please refer to the Scope of Practice document). The person performing the delegated activity is accountable for his or her own actions and to the Registered Nurse (RN). Supervision means the direction and guidance given by a RN to an Assistant in Nursing (AIN). The supervision may be direct or indirect according to the nature of the work delegated to the AIN.

Our team, and service

On-site you’ll find a close-knit clinical team led by a passionate & enthusiastic Nurse Unit Manager that encourages the development of staff. Working within the Primary care team, you’ll enjoy fantastic training & education opportunities all the while working alongside Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol, Population Health, and Aboriginal Chronic Care teams. Come join a team of professionals that chose healthcare for the same reason as you did and help us change lives for the better.

Please Note: Successful applicants can also organise a site visit with our management team either during the recruitment process or prior to commencement. If this is something you'd be interested in considering, please feel free to reach out to our team to organise.

Salary & Benefits

Your salary of $25.39 - $27.85 per hour (+ super and leave loading) is just the beginning. You’ll also have access to:

  • Additional allowances of up to $3.88 per hour
  • Access to salary packaging benefits
  • A fitness passport (if you’re eligible) + Access to ADOs (if full time)
