What you'll be doing

Assisting occupational therapists provide therapeutic interventions, in addition to a significant role in the equipment loan pool. Please note the role in the equipment loan pool will involve working at heights using an equipment picker (training will be provided).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake this training or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD and Demonstrated understanding of the role of an Allied Health Assistant within a large organisation. Ability to work independently under the delegation of an AHP and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
  3. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
  4. Identify skills and knowledge in the provision of assistant's activities to provide support for, AHPs, clients, families and carers as required.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising AHP.
  6. Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Ability to learn and manage the many processes associated with a busy equipment loan pool. Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
