About the role:

In this role, you will work one day per week within the community to provide social support and networking for aged clients. You'll support the team in delivering quality client care by assisting with routine evaluations, preparing clients for treatment, and providing service information. You'll help deliver engaging recreational activities aimed at enhancing mental stimulation and overall quality of life.

Working under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals, you'll contribute to assessing client needs and help prepare and implement therapeutic activity programs. You'll also provide vital administrative support, such as managing records, handling phone calls, and maintaining resource inventories. Ongoing professional development, supervision, and clear communication with the healthcare team will be essential as you contribute to effective care planning and service delivery.

Located 45km northwest of Tamworth, Manilla is a welcoming multi-cultural community, boasting a variety of cafes and shops as well as the renowned Manilla bakery. Manilla Multi Purpose Service is a 57-bed facility providing a range of clinical services - including a 24-hour 4 bed Emergency Department, 13 bed acute ward, pathology, radiology and 40 bed residential aged care.

About you:

Our successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, along with sound computer literacy. You’ll be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism. A key part of the role involves managing your workload effectively - prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and completing delegated activities within your scope of practice, while seeking guidance when needed.

Additional Information:
 

  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. 
  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
