Employment Type: Temporary
Remuneration: Public Hospital Medical Officers (State) Award
Hours Per Week: 38
Requisition ID: CAM26030

This Advanced Trainee position in Paediatrics and Child Health is a three year position to commence from the 2026 Clinical Year, from 02 February 2026 to 04 February 2029.

This is a unique post, incorporating work at Orange Health Service and Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN), allowing the successful applicant to complete 24 months of their 3 years as an Advanced Trainee in a single, rural site. This will allow completion of core Rural, General, Acute and/or Community/Developmental components of training.  The Trainee may opt to complete the 24 months at Orange during the beginning or the end of their three year contract. The other 12 months will be based at SCHN, with those terms negotiable depending on need. The 24 months has been created in Orange to enable an Advanced Trainee to make the transition towards the role of a rural General Paediatric Consultant.

While in Orange, the Trainee will be supervised by the six Paediatric Staff Specialists, who will provide support and training. The aim is that the Trainee will learn the skills to allow them to confidently assume autonomous Consultant practice by the end of their training, in any rural setting. It will therefore suit an Advanced Trainee with a demonstrable commitment to working outside of the metropolitan areas. By the end of the 24 months, you will know if you want to live and work (and play) in the country.

This position is not suitable for those with RACP Top up Training and Peer Review requirements.

Please refer to the position description and contact person for further information about the position.
