What you'll be doing
This Advanced Training position is designed for a Paediatrics or Community and Child Health Advanced trainee seeking to develop clinical, research, and multidisciplinary expertise in Adolescent Addiction Medicine. The role focuses on providing supervised, effective medical care to paediatric patients presenting with drug and alcohol use issues in a complex clinical environment.

The position supports both professional development and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. It involves clinical service provision, including drug withdrawal management and relapse prevention.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. At least four postgraduate years and Registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General Paediatrics and/or Community Child Health.
  3. Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
  4. Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills in a complex clinical environment.
  5. Demonstrated interest in quality improvement, risk management and patient safety.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Experience and willingness to teach junior medical staff and students.
  8. Demonstrated interest in addiction medicine, including clinical experience, research or quality activities.
