Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching hospital. Patients can access a range of services including coronary care, intensive care, orthopaedics, general medicine, surgical, obstetric, respiratory, rehabilitation, paediatric, maternity and emergency care. The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services including allied health, dental and podiatry clinics, child, adolescent and family health, drug and alcohol, health promotion and rehabilitation and aged care. An acute mental health service is co-located at Hornsby Hospital. The new $265 million stage 2 redevelopment was officially opened in June 2022.

What you'll be doing

Advanced Trainees in Neurology work under the supervision of Specialist Neurologists to assess and manage the neurological system in health and disease, whilst developing expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and management of patients with disorders of the brain (including stroke), spinal cord, nerves and muscles. This also includes supervised interpretation of neurophysiological, neuroradiological and other investigations, and general medical management of patients with neurological disorders.

This training program includes placements within NSW Health and placements external to NSW Health. Depending on the circumstances of your current employment (if applicable) and the placement locations you are allocated to during the program, there may be an impact on portability of leave entitlements and continuity of service for the purposes of parental leave eligibility.   2. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
