Where you'll be working
The Southern General Medicine Training Network (Northern sector) comprises General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Training positions at Liverpool, Bankstown, Canterbury, St George and Sutherland hospitals. The successful applicant may be required to work in any of the hospitals of this Network according to training requirements.
What you'll be doing
As an Advanced Trainee you will provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in General and Acute Care Medicine, in a complex clinical environment. Rotations are available in core general medicine, core specialty medicine, acute medicine and non core rotations. The precise duties will vary according to rotation.
It is expected that you have at least 4 years postgraduate experience and completion of the FRACP written and Clinical examinations is preferred.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Demonstrated competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning, care provision, case management and management of unstable patients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment using excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency) and judgement and expertise.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with patients, their families, and medical and other health professional staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to General Medicine Advanced Training program including education, research and teaching.
- Current NSW Driver’s License
