An exciting opportunity to join South Eastern Sydney Local Health District!

This position provides an exciting opportunity to support the Southcare Geriatric Flying Squad team with projects related to the expansion of the GFS model of care. It is a fantastic professional opportunity for internal staff of The Sutherland Hospital. Suitable for an experienced administration officer looking to broaden their skills, working an additional 8 hours per week, supporting the GFS clinical staff to improve and expand their services.  

Where you'll be working
You will be working as part of a large multidisciplinary team that supports patients in the community. Southcare, part of The Sutherland Hospital, is a large multidisciplinary Community Service which is comprised of Community Nursing, Community Rehabilitation, Allied Health and Medical Staff Specialist teams that work cohesively together to assist our elderly to stay fit and remain living at home.

As an experienced administration officer, you will provide advanced administrative and clerical support services to enable the Geriatric Flying Squad (GFS) Team to achieve their objectives related to the expansion of the GFS model of care in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. The role will primarily assist with the below:

  • Prioritise, monitor and manage the workflow and administrative tasks of the GFS team to ensure high standards of accountability, professionalism, quality and effectiveness are maintained in the delivery of the administrative service
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and review of administrative processes, systems and procedures to improve office efficiency and ensure the delivery of a quality service to internal and external customers of the GFS team.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff to facilitate high quality patient/client focused services.

Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated experience in providing a wide range of high level administrative services in a demanding environment.
2. Demonstrated ability to write accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence with strong attention to detail.
3. High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently using initiative and judgement to solve problems
5. Demonstrated commitment to work as part of a team in providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives
6. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and standard office software packages and the ability to learn new systems as require
