Selection Criteria

  1. This an identified position, therefore applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and be accepted as such in their local community. SESLHD considers that being Aboriginal is a is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.
  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or related field or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  3. Demonstrated strong leadership skills to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, and lead change.
  4. Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in delivering and evaluating effective health related projects with Aboriginal communities, in key health and community settings; and demonstrated knowledge of relevant health issues relating to Aboriginal people.
  5. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills with a strong customer service approach.
  6. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  7. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders.
  8. A willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
