Aboriginal Senior Clinician - Safewayz - Site Negotiable within SNSWLHD
Selection Criteria
- Degree in Social Work or Psychology or Bachelor degree in Counselling or related field as per NSW Health Service Health Professionals award, and/or eligibility for registration with AHPRA or AASW or completion of the ECAV pathway, with demonstrated cultural expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to create Aboriginal community connections, engagement and collaboration to affect outcomes with an understanding of intergenerational trauma, contextual and causal factors for violence, abuse and neglect and the principles of cultural safety, as this is a designated Aboriginal position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Demonstrated understanding and skills in child centered, family focused counselling, support and case management to address problematic or harmful sexual behaviours with young children and their carers, including understanding of the legal and policy framework governing child protection in NSW.
- Demonstrated ability to provide culturally responsive counselling services to individuals and their families.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in combination with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a small therapeutic team.
- Demonstrated experience participating in and/or leading of quality improvement activities and service development and evaluation.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical and cultural supervision and professional education and experience in providing clinical supervision.
- Evidence of a current Class C driver licence and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the Health Service.

All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
