Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. This is an identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position and, as such, applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in their local community, and possess the requisite cultural knowledge. NBMLHD considers that being Aboriginal is genuine occupational qualification under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
  2. One years’ experience in health-related full-time equivalent employment.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of the Australian health system.
  4. Sound knowledge of social, cultural, political and health issues affecting Aboriginal people, families and communities and demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of Aboriginal Health.
  5. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to set and meet priorities, particularly in meeting competing within work and between work and study.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft office applications, including MS Teams, SharePoint and Excel.
  8. Successful completion of a recognised undergraduate degree and/or ability to meet the admission requirements for the post grad degree of MPH at a university in NSW.
