1.        To have a lived experience of social and emotional wellbeing challenges with the ability to draw on your own personal recovery experience to support others.

2.        Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Djirruwang program (or willingness to obtain these qualifications); or relevant health related qualification and combination of experience.

3.        Understanding of the challenges Aboriginal consumers may experience in accessing mental health services, and having contact with the criminal justice system.

4.        Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and actively contribute to care planning in a team setting.

5.        Demonstrated clear written and verbal communication, including negotiation and problem solving skills, as well as computer skills (MS Office).

6.        Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with a range of key stakeholders including consumers, carers, families, communities, multidisciplinary teams and non-government organisations.

7.        Current Drivers licence and willingness to travel between Sydney-metro sites.
