What you will bring to the role:
- This is an Aboriginal identified position. Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District considers that being of Aboriginal descent is a genuine occupational qualification under section 14 of the Anti-discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- Possess a Certificate III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or is willing to undertake same within first 12 months and able to demonstrate relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and traditions.
- Knowledge and understanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal People and their families, and the services available to them in our District.
- Ability to engage the Aboriginal community and build trust to increase service utilisation, uptake of healthy behaviours and improve health outcomes
- Willingness to develop knowledge and skills in chronic disease, integrated care and healthy behaviour modification.
- Willingness and ability to develop understanding and commitment to service quality improvement principles
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
