About the opportunity
These positions provide WHS Services for Metro North (Corporate, Northern Sydney and Central Coast) and Metro South (South Western Sydney and Forensic and Analytical Science Services). The positions will be be based within these geographical locations with the ability to travel between locations.
Are you interested in joining the Work Health & Safety team within NSW Health Pathology? Two (2) permanent Full-Time opportunities have become available as WHS Advisors responsible for either our Metro East and South West Area.
As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to build effective relationships with the frontline management and Executive leaders of NSW Health Pathology. You will be part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team with great culture!
We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent, objective analysis to the NSW criminal and coronial justice systems.

What you'll be doing
- Working closely with frontline management and Executive in the implementation of the NSWHP WHS (including manual handling) management system
- Supporting and presenting appropriate training courses and encouraging staff to participate in relevant training course
- Supporting and facilitating WHS consultation processes within NSWHP including providing direct support and advice to Health & Safety Committees and Health and Safety representatives (HSRs)

- Relevant qualifications in WHS (minimum Certificate IV in WHS) and a range of experience, skills and knowledge in operational WHS; and/or a range of experience, skills and knowledge in hazardous manual task handling program development and implementation.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or experience in developing and implementing instructional/educational programs for an adult learning environment.
- Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated effective time management and ability to work in a complex environment with competing priorities and conflicting deadlines whilst maintaining a commitment to customer service
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, peers and other key stakeholders.
- Tell up about a time you used a risk-based approach to identify and control a workplace hazard. How did you identify the hazard, assess the level of risk, and what actions did you take to comply with NSW WS legislation?
- Current unencumbered drivers license with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
