Obstetrics & Gynaecology - Unaccredited Trainee - Terms 3-4 2025 Clinical Year
Apply now for an Unaccredited Training position in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, commencing 4 August 2025 for a period of six months, within the Northern Rivers - Richmond Network (Lismore Base Hospital, Ballina District Hospital, Casino Memorial Hospital).
The Unaccredited Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatients (antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology) clinics. They will also gain valuable experience to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment.
Lismore Base Hospital provides formal JMO teaching that involves a regular weekly teaching schedule and monthly Grand Rounds (Whole Hospital). We also work closely with the University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) who offer valuable teaching and simulations for medical officers in training.
Where you'll be working
Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service.

What you'll be doing
Unaccredited Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatients (e.g. antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology) clinics.
This position can contribute towards a RANZCOG diploma or assist trainees to obtain an accredited RANZCOG training position in the future.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role (please address these in your response)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise
- Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
- Commitment to participating in training and development opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the area of obstetrics and gynaecology.
