CCLHD Radiology department is a RANZCR level A accredited teaching site. This position is to predominantly provide effective point of care multi-modality diagnostic and interventional Radiology services to patients in a complex clinical environment in this public health Organisation. Responsibilities include: Taking a leadership role in timely delivery of Radiology reports for patients presenting to the Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. The Department offers excellent teaching and exposure to Multi-disciplinary team meetings. It is a friendly department with a positive culture.  The position is open for full time or part time engagement. 

The NSW Central Coast is positioned between Sydney and Newcastle, with a population that is expected to grow from the current approximate 360,000 to 480,000 before 2030.

Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital and a trauma centre for the Central Coast, with approximately 500 inpatient beds and 24-hour access to its Emergency Department and Operating Theatres. Inpatient services include Coronary and Intensive Care, General Medicine, Neurology, Renal, Geriatrics, General Surgery, Urosurgery, Hepato-bilairy surgery, ENT, Endocrinology, Infectious diseases. Anesthetics, Obstetrics, Mental Health, Paediatrics and Palliative care services. Outpatient and community services include Allied Health, Dental, Podiatry, Nursing, Child and Adolescent and Family Health, Drug and Alcohol, Hospital in the Home and Cardiac Rehabilitation. The Regional cancer center at Gosford offers Radiation and Medical Oncology servces.

Wyong Hospital is a recently redeveloped, acute major metropolitan hospital providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to residents in the northern part of the NSW Central Coast. Wyong Hospital has approx 300 inpatient beds and provides a range of medical, surgical and critical care services. Specialty services include Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Drug and Alcohol, Gastroenterology, Stroke, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Vascular, Urology and Cancer services.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. Completion of a minimum of three postgraduate years. FRANZCR or working towards completion of RANZCR fellowship
  3. IMG assessed by RANZCR as partially comparable
  4. High level of communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  7. Demonstrated time management, problem solving skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills, with minimum of 30 words per minute. Along with evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
