What you'll be doing

Provide a high first-line standard of Medical care to patients admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, including assessment, investigation, treatment and referral for specialist care, in consultation with the designated Staff Specialist. The position requires working a rotating roster, including weekends and nights.   1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. Extensive demonstrated post graduate experience relevant to the care of the sick Newborn, including an aggregate of at least 12 months tertiary unit experience at the level of a NICU Trainee
  3. Knowledge of contemporary Clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute conditions in the care of the Newborn
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising skills, judgement and expertise to provide a high standard of patient care
  5. Demonstrated high level of organisational, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with patients and their families, multidisciplinary health care team and broader internal and external stakeholders
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates working in the Neonatal Intensive Care setting.
  7. Ability to work in a computerised environment
