What you will bring to the role 

  1. Tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership as follows: a) Occupational Therapy - minimum bachelor’s degree and general registration with AHPRA b) Social Work - minimum Bachelor Degree and eligibility for membership of AASW; c) Nursing – Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA with relevant post-registration qualifications in Mental Health or Drug and Alcohol; d) Senior Psychologist - full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and 9 years' experience; e) Clinical Psychology – Master's Degree or higher in clinical psychology plus full registration as a psychologist and endorsement to practice as a clinical psychologist with AHPRA f) Counsellor - Must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in counselling or a related field. Extensive clinical experience in Mental Health or Drug and Alcohol.
  2. Demonstrated experience in frontline leadership/ management of a clinical service including clinical supervision. This includes the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, to work independently, and to exercise independent judgement on issues requiring advanced clinical reasoning.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of the impact of social and cultural factors on family functioning, and to work with Aboriginal and other culturally diverse communities in culturally competent ways.
  4. Demonstrated competence in family focused, evidence based clinical assessment and intervention with a complex caseload in a community setting. This includes specialist knowledge of comorbid mental health and drug and alcohol problems, intra-familial child abuse and neglect, and contemporary family focused integrated treatment including risk assessment and safety planning.
  5. Demonstrated partnership building and negotiation skills with a wide range of service providers and well developed understanding of the interface between services.
  6. Demonstrated understanding of the legal and policy frameworks which governs mental health, drug and alcohol and child protection within NSW, including knowledge of the escalation pathways for, mental health, drug and alcohol and child protection issues
  7. Evidence of an advanced level of verbal/written communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these skills to contribute to the Whole Family Team ongoing evaluation, monitoring and enhancement of service delivery including report writing.
  8. NSW Drivers Licence Class C (including P1 or above) and willingness to use same for work purposes.
