About Us

Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services. 

 

As a Sterilisation Technician, you will ensure the provision of sterile or disinfected items and/or equipment to all stakeholders within the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. You will carry out procedures within the sterilising service as directed and in accordance with NBMLHD policies, procedures, and AS/NZS 4187:2014 standards.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Completion of a Certificate III in Sterilisation at TAFE. with knowledge of AUS/NZ standards and infection control principles
  2. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy department whilst handling multiple priorities
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment & independently
  4. Physically capable of carrying out all duties, including handling chemicals, biological hazards, standing for extended periods of time, lifting, pulling, and pushing loads
  5. Moderate computer skills
  6. Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
  7. Demonstrated ability to provide support to staff whilst learning new skills
