About the role:

This fast-paced role will see you play a part in ensuring the smooth running of theatres, allowing the best experience for our patients. Day to day, you will work alongside the team to work through the decontamination, inspection, packaging, sterilisation, and process verification of reusable medical devices.

Where you’ll be working:

Kurri Kurri District Hospital is a lovely rural hospital that provides contemporary care to our communities. Our theatres are best known for their high standard work in providing efficient access and care to those who are requiring ophthalmology and Ear, Nose and Throat surgical procedures. We work as a team across our whole campus, so you can expect day to day to be greeted by your colleagues who will work alongside you to provide service.

Our sterilisation team work alongside our clinical staff to ensure that we are efficient, reliable and safe in the care that we provide our patients. Best described as friendly, efficient, and very good at what they do, our team are kind, committed and spend their workdays together enjoying the high output of work we achieve whilst also leading with compassion and humour.

About You:

We are looking for someone with relevant working experience and qualifications, although we are willing to support more junior staff with education and training.

Requirements:

  • Sterilisation Technology Certificate II or III in health service assistance (sterilisation services) or equivalent qualification and relevant experience in sterilisation services department within a healthcare facility

 
Additional Information:
 

  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
