About the role:

Staff Health is based on the John Hunter Hospital Campus, proudly supporting a workforce of over 5,000 employees. Our close-knit team of seven is known for its friendly and supportive environment, ensuring new staff feel welcomed and valued.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for enquiries, scheduling staff appointments, and assisting employees who have experienced exposure to blood-borne viruses. You will also play a key role in administering vaccinations in accordance with the OASV Policy and Ministry of Health directives. As part of a collaborative team, you will share responsibilities, contribute to managing disease outbreaks, and help maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

Staff Health operates Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, primarily working onsite at the John Hunter Hospital campus. Additionally, we engage with the broader Staff Health Network through quarterly meetings to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) but will be fully supported by a team of experienced Registered Nurses (RNs), Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs), and the NUM throughout their learning journey. To ensure a smooth transition into the role, they will initially work alongside a dedicated RN, receiving hands-on guidance and mentorship until they feel confident navigating workflows and processes independently. This supportive environment fosters professional growth and sets the foundation for success in the role.
