The Role

An exciting opportunity waits for a senior level 3 Speech Pathologist to join the rehabilitation team at Sutherland Hospital. The position will cover the spectrum of rehabilitation from inpatients through to home follow up and clinic reviews. Supported by a multi-disciplinary team and working closely with Rehabilition Physicians the possibilities are endless and rewarding for the successful applicant.

1. Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia

2. Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical experience in communication management, particularly with aged care clients with complex needs.

3 Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical experience in dysphagia management, particularly with aged care clients with complex needs and minimal medical guidance.

4. Proven ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.

5. Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated experience using computerised patient information systems such as eMR and Microsoft programs.

6. Proven ability to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team and effectively manage own caseload independently or with limited supervision.

7. Current unrestricted Class C NSW driver's license
