Where you'll be working

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
 
PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
 
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

What you'll be doing

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Service (DAS) offers a range of treatment and support services for people with problems from their alcohol, prescription or illicit drug use, and/or their families and cares. Outpatient drug and alcohol (D&A) services are located in clinics at the Langton Centre in Surry Hills, St George Hospital in Kogarah, and Caringbah Community Health Centre at Sutherland Hospital. Inpatient D&A services are provided at Sydney Hospital (SSEH), Prince of Wales (POWH), St. George (SGH) and Sutherland Hospitals (TSH).
 
This position is responsible for providing high-level specialty support for the management of administration services and facilities to support the efficient and effective operation of SESLHD D&A Services. This position is also responsible for leading and managing the Administration Support Services Team to facilitate delivery of quality, cost effective services and the achievement of business and service objectives.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Experience in effectively managing, motivating and coordinating multi-disciplinary support staff within a complex customer service environment including the ability to identify and appropriately managing unsatisfactory performance
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, staff and other key stakeholders
  4. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and influencing skills including strong negotiation and delegation skills
  5. Detailed knowledge of contemporary issues in management including financial, human resources and organisational management
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, standards and practices in accordance with approved guidelines
  7. Demonstrated high level analytical problem solving and conflict management skills that lead to the development of innovative solutions to workplace issues
  8. Current driver’s license (with willingness to travel in accordance with demands of the position)
