Senior Social Worker - Substance Use in Pregnancy and Parenting Service (SUPPS) - Location Negotiable
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in social work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Extensive post-graduate clinical experience in alcohol and other drugs counselling, child protection, domestic violence, or family relationship issues, with a strong commitment to partnering with Aboriginal clients and improving health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups
- Proven experience in using advanced reasoning skills to prepare high-quality written reports, oral presentations, and comprehensive care plans, along with strong time management abilities
- Demonstrated leadership in quality improvement initiatives, service evaluation, and clinical supervision of staff
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of trauma informed care and its application to interventions with pregnant people and their families
- Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in the use of computer based clinical record keeping and other practice related software
- Evidence of a current unrestricted driver’s license (P2 license acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers license within 3 months of appointment. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may include driving long distances and overnight stays

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
