Senior Policy Officer Expression of Interest

Expressions of interest are being sought from NSW Health staff wishing to apply to this internal opportunity. To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be a permanent/ongoing employee or a temporary employee with at least 12 months consecutive service.

About this role
The Health and Social Policy Branch, Ministry of Health has a temporary senior policy officer opportunity in the Priority Populations Team up to 31 November 2025. 

This role will manage a range of projects and provide policy advice to support the implementation of the NSW LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy 2022-2027.

Crown Clerk 9/10, salary from $125,693- $138,510 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading

What you'll be doing

  • Support the development the LGBTIQ+ Workforce Education and Training Strategy, and the Conversion Practices Ban education module for NSW Health Staff
  • Work with NSW Health and community stakeholders to improve the collection of LGBTIQ+ data
  • Support the development of the LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy monitoring and evaluation framework
  • Provide secretariat support for the LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy Implementation Committee
  • Manage grants and maintain relationships with NGO stakeholders


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with experience or knowledge of the health and social needs of LGBTIQ+ communities and working with LGBTIQ+ non-government organisations. 


Essential requirements

  • Substantial experience in the provision of policy advice in a complex and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting on the health and social policy portfolio.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in undertaking all stages of the policy cycle (development, implementation and review)
