About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology is currently seeking Senior Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our dedicated team at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick as Embryologists. We have two full-time roles available – one permanent and one temporary.

What you'll be doing
The position will be the Senior Embryologist for the Fertility Research Centre, a joint initiative by the University of New South Wales and Local Health District. The Senior Embryologist will be required to perform all assisted reproductive techniques (ART) and assist the Head of Embryology in the supervision, training and management of staff within the department as well as support the clinical and scientific research activities of the laboratory.

- Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Extensive experience in current assisted reproductive technologies including ICSI, embryo and oocyte vitrification. Embryo biopsy for PGT desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems including data provision to the Australian and New Zealand Assisted Reproductive Technology Database.
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff.
- Proven leadership and management skills and experience including operational management, staff management and resource management.
- Demonstrated understanding and sound knowledge of RTAC accreditation framework, NHMRC ethical guidelines and applicable statutory regulations.
