Health Manager Level 5, starting salary from $166,678 to $186,448 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.

 

About the role

 

As the Senior Manager, Strategy, Planning and Improvement, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the System Performance Support Branch. You’ll provide expert advice to the Executive Director, lead high-impact initiatives across planning, governance, and performance improvement, and coordinate critical ministerial deliverables. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on complexity, is driven by purpose, and values the opportunity to lead change across the NSW health system.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Provide strategic advice, planning and support to the Executive Director and SPS leadership team.
  • Lead the development of governance frameworks, strategic plans, and high-level policy coordination.
  • Oversee SPS business planning, risk management, and internal evaluation processes.
  • Manage delivery of executive and ministerial services (EMS), including high-quality briefings.
  • Represent SPS on committees and forums focused on system improvement and performance.

 

About you

 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in health strategy, governance, or policy.
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership in complex environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience in ministerial correspondence and high-stakes briefings.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong internal and external relationships.
  • A proactive, values-driven mindset with strong analytical and planning skills.
