We have an opportunity for an experienced and skilled researcher, evaluator, or analyst to support and conduct monitoring and evaluation of priority Aboriginal health initiatives, provide expert advice on issues of data quality and integrity, and provide technical assistance with reporting and clear communication of data.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $125,693 - $138,510 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week. The role is temporary (available until 30 June 2026).

What you'll be doing
The Senior Analyst, Aboriginal Health and Equity Evidence and Evaluation (AHEEE):
- undertakes epidemiological and statistical analyses, provides advice and technical support, and ensures timely provision of complex information for priority Aboriginal health and equity projects across the NSW Ministry of Health
- provides effective project management of strategic evidence and evaluation initiatives and supports the development and reporting of Aboriginal health indicators and performance data
- works collaboratively with policy, community, service providers and other key stakeholders to design, conduct, and support priority health monitoring, evaluation, and research related to Aboriginal people/s and other populations experiencing health inequality.
- in collaboration with key partners, prepares and disseminates results of research, evaluation and epidemiological analyses through briefings, publications, reports and presentations to stakeholders.
About you
We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to support the work of NSW Health by working flexibly and responsively in a dynamic, small team environment. The successful applicant for this role will have:
- Post graduate qualifications combined with substantial practical skills and experience in evaluation, epidemiology and/or biostatistics, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
- Sound understanding of Aboriginal health and equity issues in NSW and Australia, with demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Aboriginal stakeholders including Aboriginal community-controlled organisations in an ethical and culturally safe way.
- Excellent knowledge of health datasets and demonstrated experience in the analysis and application of epidemiological and statistical methods to health data, especially in the context of program evaluation.
- Strong analytic thinking, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to transform and effectively communicate complex data into clear information that is accessible to a range of audiences.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of key stakeholders, and to work both collaboratively and independently as required.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and provide timely advice and outputs where required
- A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.

- Describe your understanding of the key issues influencing the health of Aboriginal people in NSW. What are some of the factors that need to be considered in the use of Aboriginal health data and how do these issues impact Aboriginal health reporting?
