About the Opportunity 
Join the Immunology and HIV Department in a busy, rewarding role where your admin skills help everything run smoothly. You’ll manage diaries, organize meetings, prepare reports, and handle patient appointments with care and accuracy. From arranging travel and training to keeping financial records and medical transcriptions up to date, your attention to detail will keep the team on track.

You’ll help new staff settle in, order equipment, and make sure everything from forms to facilities is ready to go. With strong computer skills and a focus on great service, you’ll work closely with staff and patients, always keeping sensitive information private. If you’re organized, reliable, and ready to be a key part of a caring team, we’d love to have you on board.
 


What You'll be Doing
To carry out a high standard of administrative duties for the Head of Department, Nurse Manger and Other Medical/ Other Administrative/ Nursing/Allied Health Staff of the Clinical Immunology & HIV Medicine Department.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds. 

The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

  1. Demonstrate your experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher. Provide examples of how you’ve used these tools to produce financial or data reports, manage documentation, or perform high-level data entry with accuracy and professionalism.
  2. Describe situations where your verbal and written communication skills helped you interpret and respond to client or customer needs. Include examples that show your ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide excellent customer service.
  3. Provide examples of how you’ve successfully managed a high-volume workload, prioritized tasks, met tight deadlines and maintaining patient confidentiality. Highlight any challenges you’ve faced and how your problem-solving skills contributed to positive outcomes, either independently or as part of a team.
  4. Outline your experience in administrative duties such as handling phone inquiries, scheduling patient appointments, and managing Medicare billing. Share examples of how you’ve adapted to changing priorities and supported your department. If applicable, include your experience with Health Roster, Stafflink, NTS, iProcurement or computer data base systems.
