About the role:

In this role, you will work within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse, supported by Enrolled Nurses (EENs), Assistants in Nursing (AiNs), Student Nurses (SBTs), and an onsite Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE). As a mixed medical and surgical ward, no two days will be the same, offering a wide range of inpatient care. Nursing staff are encouraged to expand their skills with the support of a full-time CNE and ample opportunities to explore different departments as their interests grow. This hands-on position allows nurses to take a leading role in patient care, contributing significantly to the ward’s daily operations.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an emergency-qualified Registered Nurse with experience in advanced life support, triage, and managing patient loads within an Emergency Department. Joining our team provides numerous benefits, including an onsite orientation period upon commencement and a personalized education plan to upskill and maintain clinical competencies. We also foster a fun and supportive workplace culture, with initiatives like 'Fun Scrub Friday' where staff can wear colourful scrub tops. New employees will receive a 30-day and 60-day catch-up conversation, along with annual development reviews, in line with HNE policies. In addition to regular rostered shifts, extra shifts are available, and we offer flexibility in our rostering patterns.

Where you’ll be working:

Scone Hospital is a charming rural facility offering all the amenities of a city hospital. It features a mixed medical/surgical ward, operating theatre, maternity unit, a 4-bed Emergency Department, and onsite medical imaging. Parking is never a concern, with plenty of FREE onsite parking available. Located just over 3 hours' drive north of Sydney, Scone is conveniently close to the Central Coast, Newcastle, and Maitland, all perfect for day trips. Further north, you'll find Tamworth, Armidale, and a beautiful rural landscape to explore. Our diverse team brings a wide range of skills and strengths, with plenty of opportunities for professional growth.
