Registered Midwife
Moree

This role is accepting overseas candidates with AHPRA and ANMAC assessment for ANZSCO code 254111

About the role:

In this role, whether you are a newly graduated or experienced Midwife will find an incredibly supportive and nurturing environment where your skills and knowledge will continue to grow. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of maternity care, from Antenatal through to Intrapartum and Postnatal care, with the added opportunity to develop valuable nursery experience.

You will also play a vital role in partnering with our local Aboriginal community, working alongside the Aboriginal Midwifery Service (AMOS) and supporting key community initiatives. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with the Maternal Foetal Specialist Clinic from John Hunter Hospital, which provides crucial care for women with high-risk pregnancies during their monthly visits to Moree—an initiative that has significantly improved health outcomes.

This role will allow you to work to your full scope of practice with the backing of comprehensive safety systems that promote safe, effective decision-making. If you’re passionate about making a meaningful impact, this is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated, professional team that puts patient care at the heart of everything they do.

Where you'll be working:

At Moree, you’ll be joining a close-knit, dedicated maternity unit known for its holistic, contemporary, and women-centred care. The team is supported by two highly respected female GP Obstetricians and offers a unique shared care antenatal program in collaboration with local GPs and Obstetricians. This collaborative model allows our midwives to form strong, trusting relationships with each woman and her family, ensuring personalised, compassionate care throughout their journey.

You’ll be working alongside a professional team that thrives under supportive leadership, with a strong focus on continuous professional development. We’re particularly proud of our outstanding achievements, including maintaining one of the lowest epidural rates in the state.

About you:

  • You are a compassionate midwife, deeply committed to providing women-centred care. Moree’s maternity unit is the ideal place for you to thrive, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver holistic, contemporary care.
  • Your adaptability and strong time management skills will be key in meeting the diverse needs of our patients.
  • You bring confidence and a clear understanding of when to escalate care, ensuring that every woman receives the highest standard of support.
  • Here, your skills and passion will be both valued and nurtured, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of women and their families.
