Radiographer Level 2 Full time or Part time / Permanent or Temporary

A vacancy exists at the Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Imaging department for 1.0 FTE Permanent or temporary Radiographers (full time or part time)

All applications must hold current AHPRA general registration and a current NSW EPA Ia14 radiation licence.  These documents must be attached to the application or preferably emailed to the convenor.

The Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Imaging Department is located on the Randwick Campus and provides services to POWH, Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.

Radiographers shall be responsible for provision of quality diagnostic radiography services to all patients serviced by the Prince of Wales Medical Imaging Department.  Staff will work in all areas service by this department and will participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster which may include on call.  They will initially work in adult and paediatric general and emergency departments, operating theatres, mobiles, Screening and OPG’s.  Further progression to other modalities is dependent on prior experience and the radiographer’s capabilities and performance within the department.

Where you'll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Selection Criteria

  1. Hold a degree in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent
  2. Hold a NSW EPA Radiation Licence to operate radiation apparatus and registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with AHPRA
  3. Demonstrated ability and experience to perform radiographic examinations in a wide range of modality areas including general, theatre, mobiles
  4. Willingness to participate in a rotating 24/7 roster and on call as part of a multidisciplinary team
  5. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with experience or knowledge in utilising health related computer applications
  6. Ability to work with a team and independently with the ability to organise workload to facilitate high patient throughput
  7. A knowledge of WHS and radiation protection practices
  8. Proven ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail
