We are inviting qualified Radiation Therapists to join our dynamic Nepean Cancer Care team. The department has a range of new equipment including two new TrueBeam Linacs as well as Surface Guided RT on all equipment. They are also looking forward to a new Treatment Planning System that will be implemented over the next year or two.
As a Radiation Therapist, you will simulate, plan, and treat patients with ionizing radiation in a timely and efficient manner whilst maintaining technical radiation therapy standards. The successful candidate will safely operate equipment in accordance with all radiation safety and occupational health and safety standards. In this role, you will be expected to participate in the development and upgrading of clinical protocols and techniques. What you will bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree in medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy) or Bachelor of Applied Science or qualification deemed equivalent by employer; General Registration as a Medical Radiation Therapist by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority and holder of IA13 and S13 Radiation User Licence (NSW EPA Licence).
- Recent and demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in all aspects of modern Image Guided Radiation Therapy, including online CBCT review with Soft Tissue matching.
- Recent and demonstrated experience and technical skills in advanced Planning techniques, incorporating multi-modality image registration for techniques such as IMRT and VMAT.
- Demonstrated evidence of contribution to a high functioning team that encourages collaboration, participation, and respect in shared team goals.
- Dedicated commitment in providing excellent and safe individual patient care, balanced against providing an efficient service for all patients.
- Open and friendly communicator with demonstrated communication skills in written, verbal, and electronic formats
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of radiation therapy quality assurance and quality controls, including radiation safety
- Active involvement in Continuing Professional Development and Training activities of self and others
