What you’ll be doing
Step into a key role at St George Hospital, one of Sydney’s top teaching hospitals, and help drive innovation in cancer care. As a Medical Oncology Trials Fellow, you’ll play a central part in cutting-edge clinical trials - supporting patient recruitment, delivering expert care, and assessing patient outcomes that shape the future of oncology.
Working one day per week (0.2 FTE), you’ll provide clinical management of patients under expert supervision, including clinical assessments, treatment planning, procedures, and documentation. This is a standout opportunity to sharpen your clinical skills, gain hands-on research experience, in a complex clinical environment.

St George Hospital is an accredited, principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales. It is the largest hospital in SESLHD with 627 inpatient beds. It is a Level 1 Trauma Centre and a leader in trauma and emergency management in NSW. The hospital’s proximity to Sydney airport makes it a vital service, providing first response to the airport precinct.
The hospital is in Kogarah, 14 kilometres south of the Sydney CBD and a kilometre from Botany Bay. It is well serviced by buses, trains and major roads. Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care
- High level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
- Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
- Demonstrated high level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
- Demonstrated interest and commitment to further education and practice in medical oncology.
