Provisional Fellow positions in Paediatric Medical Oncology are available at The Children’s Hospital Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, and John Hunter Children's Hospital for the 2026 Clinical Year, from 02 February 2026 to 31 January 2027.

The Provisional Fellow position provides Advanced Trainees an opportunity to further their training, developing skills important for a consultant role in the spheres of clinical care, education and training as well as research with support from the team consultants and other health care professionals. The Provisional Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the department for other junior medical staff and medical students as well as members of the multidisciplinary team, but also across the broader hospital community.

Selection Criteria:

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.

  2. Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an advanced trainee or equivalent. Those registered with the RACP, must have preferably completed a minimum 6 months as an advanced trainee with RACP (or equivalent) at commencement of Fellowship.

  3. 6 months experience in relevant subspecialty or equivalent. Please detail relevant experience.

  4. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.

  5. Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.

  6. Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.

  7. Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.

  8. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent time management, problem solving skills, clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
